Weight Loss Calorie Calculator
How much calories should I burn a day?
No matter what type of diet you follow, to lose weight, you need to burn more calories than
you take in each day. For most overweight people, cutting about 500 calories a day is a
good place to start. If you can eat 500 fewer calories every day, you should lose about a pound (450 g) a week.
How do you calculate calories for weight loss?
Since 1 pound of fat equals approximately 3,500 calories, by reducing your caloric intake
by 3,500 to 7,000 calories each week, you'll safely lose about 1 to 2 pounds each week.
Keep in mind: Your daily calorie intake—the calories you eat—should never dip below 1,200 (for women) or 1,800 (for men).
